Residential Pool Closing Services

GBI Pool Services Inc. professionally closes pools and hot tubs, preparing them for our harsh Ottawa winters. Our pool closing packages are listed below, including all of the services that they include. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding our pricing or scheduling.

NOTE: Customers purchasing the No Cover package are responsible for lowering water level below jets, and ensuring water is balanced, clean and clear prior to the pool closing appointment. If the water is not low enough, the pool will be drained by GBI Pool Services and the bill will be adjusted to the silver package.


2024 Pool Closing Packages

No Cover Pool Closing Service: 

For pools with no winter cover to re-install

$285 + HST

  • Blow out entire pool plumbing system
  • Install winter plugs
  • Protect skimmer from ice buildup.
  • Add antifreeze to plumbing lines and pump as required
  • Prepare pool equipment for winter:
    • Blow out entire plumbing system
    • Drain water from filter and pump
    • Winterize gas heater
    • Winterize pool lights
    • Remove and store filter cartridges (if applicable)
    • Remove salt cell (if possible)
    • Remove and store ladder in shed
    • Store plugs and gaskets in pump basket

No Cover + Drain Pool Closing Service: 

For pools that require the water level to be lowered.

$385 + HST

Includes everything in Bronze Closing package, PLUS:

  • GBI Pool Services Inc. will drain the pool below the jets (non-salt pools only) 

 

Pool Closing + 1 Cover Service: 

For pools with safety covers*, tarps, leaf nets and water bags

$525 + HST

Includes everything in Silver Closing package, PLUS:

  • Installation of ONE winter cover and filling/positioning water bags.

*We do NOT recommend using economy water bags as they are prone to leaking, which can cause your winter cover to fall in the pool
